Local 662's Last Rock N Roll Show w/Pleasures/Sonic Graffiti/Luxury Mane/King Complex So St. Petersburg venue The Local 662 is shutting down this month before morphing into a biscuit house. Yep, biscuits. To celebrate (or mourn) promoters are staging one last free rock and roll show (you can roll a biscuit when it’s rock hard though). Billy Summer and Luxury Mane will handle the late night set, and the band will be joined by our favorite demonic fever dreamers (psych-rock act Pleasures), garage-rockers Sonic Graffiti and Tallahassee pop-tronic duo King Complex. Pour one out for Local 662, and remember to appreciate your favorite venues before the landlord realizes how much the property value has gone up. (The Local 662, St. Petersburg) INFO
Adventure Club w/Young Bombs Over the last five years, Canadian duo Adventure Club has been navigating the electronic scene on its own terms. The duo began when Christian Srigley and Leighton James formed a pop-punk band in high school. After some time, the boys grew bored with the genre’s sound and shifted to the electronic route. Since then, they’ve built a huge following off constant touring and at times viral singles. Adventure Club songs “Daisy,” “Crave You” and “Everything to Me” have been mainstays at festivals all around the world thanks to the popularity of Srigley and James themselves (they’ve made appearances at Ultra and EDC) and the remixes they’ve done for other DJs. A spectacular light show accompanies this show at The Ritz, which should be a can’t miss for EDM fans. (Ritz Ybor, Ybor City) —LJ INFO

Dierks Bentley w/Cole Swindell + Jon Pardi What was I thinkin’? Of all the popular country touring acts to hit Tampa over the years, I’ve yet to see Dierks Bentley. The Arizona-native turned Nashville superstar has 15 no.1 singles on Billboard’s Country charts and is notorious for his spectacular, high-energy live performances loaded with lots of fan interaction. This time around he is supported by Georgia boy Cole Swindell and new American Country Music award-winner Jon Pardi, who won Best New Male Vocalist in April. Swindell, 33, was most recently in the Tampa Bay area opening for Jason Aldean in 2015, where he played fan favorites “You Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight.” (MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, Tampa) —LJ INFO
Zulu Wave Farewell Show w/BAET/DieAlps!/Sun Signs Zulu Wave frontman Michael Barrow — who arrived in Tampa on a whim 2011 — is leaving on Saturday, but he’ll hit New World one last time along with the last incarnation of his band, which has gone through four drummers and four bassists in their six year run. Read our Q&A with Barrow here. (New World Brewery, Ybor City) INFO
Gypsy Kings Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo have been banging around smaller venues over the last few years, but they’re going all in for this one at Ruth Eckerd Hall where the gigantic vocals and searing flamenco of the Gipsy Kings will get to spread out for fans who flock to shows in search of a Latin-flavored cocktail of rumba and salsa-influenced pop that gets mixed in with the influences of the band’s southern France origins. Expect the group to lean heavy on a self-titled 1987 LP at this one. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO
Jason Bieler It’s tough to be metal when your contemporaries just brush you off, and while grunge and heavy metal fans didn’t exactly flock to Saigon Kick, the Miami-based band was able to create enough of a fanbase to make this performance from singer Jason Bieler noteworthy. Bieler most recently collaborated with guitarist Steve Gibb (son of the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb), but this one at The Attic above Rock Brothers Brewing is a solo set. Classic Albums Live: Rush 2112 Caress of Steel might have been just a little too weird for Rush fans, so it’s a good thing 1976’s 2112 came along. The album merged the prog and heavy rock of the iconic band’s existing material, and the result was a commercial breakthrough that ended up on Rolling Stone’s “Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time.” This obviously isn’t going to be Rush playing the tunes, but Classic Albums Live founder and producer promises a “note for note, cut for cut” duplication of the album. Swing Guitars: The Music of Basie, Ellington, Reinhardt, Goodman and more w/Nate Najar/Chip Henderson/more Bay area jazz guitar favorite Nate Najar is joined by Nashville plucker and author Chip Henderson for a swinging afternoon dedicated to the more upbeat material from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt and Benny Goodman. WZHappening Presents: Suplex Party XVII w/Joshua Cruz/Dray Davinchy/MC Kenna/Dessasore/Mason Monrow/Gat$ There ain’t no party like a Suplex party, and if you need proof then follow the lead of Tampa emcee and producer Gat$ who is hosting an evening of hip-hop and R&B featuring some of the area’s best and brightest. Shining especially bright these days is Tampa singer Joshua Cruz, who is hopefully reeling from feedback on a brand new single of perfectly-polished pop, “Poison Lips.” (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO
A Night of Drum and Bass w/ Dave Owe/Jaybee The Lion’s Den continues to establish itself on the Bay area live music calendar (Tampa emcee Dynasty also hosts an event at the second story cigar bar this week, too), and the walls might rumble a bit when Queens, New York drum and bass producer Dave Owen — who's been able to make a splash on the charts on the strength of songs like “Still Waters” and “Don’t Front” — arrives to play the room alongside his production partner Jaybee. Rock the Yacht w/Brass Roots Who doesn’t like a party on a yacht? Add in an eccentric live band and cheap prices, and this may be an event for just about everyone. Starship Yacht’s latest installment of the Rock the Yacht summer series feature the Brass Roots Band, an outfit that loves to blend all the fun music from the last few decades. Led by Grammy award winning producer Cliff Brown, this is a local band with “international plans.” As Brown has worked with artists like Usher and Mary J. Blige in the past, he has garnered the taste for both the old and new. Expect to hear 70s funk and R&B blended with artists from today’s urban scene. Don’t miss the boat!
