Parker Millsap (Two Shows) Anyone at Parker Millsap’s drizzly September Skipper’s Smokehouse show probably saw this booking filling up fast. The new-ish Safety Harbor Art and Music Center acted quickly, however, and added a second show (which also sold out). Now it’s all over but the howling for Millsap, who turns 24 years old less than a week after this pair of shows in support of a still captivating 2016 LP, The Very Last Day. Parker’s vocal went from “demonically throaty to angelic” throughout the course of that Skipper’s set and the youngster from Purcell, Oklahoma is due for a monster year, so don’t expect to see his gruff-throated delivery in a venue this intimate ever again. Read CL's September interview with Millsap and Sarah Jarosz here. Listen to you an old Millsap tune, "God I Wish I Were A God" here. (Safety Harbor Art and Music Center, Safety Harbor) INFO

Paul Thorn Band The gospel according to Paul, for one night only. The Tupelo songwriter has called his fans the only reason he gets to keep doing what he loves (read our interview here). On Saturday, Thorn, 52, gets to prove it for a crowd that’ll likely get massive previews of the gospel album he’s been working on as of late. It’s also the 20th anniversary of his breakout LP, Hammer & Nail, so expect Thorn and the band to perform a very large chunk of it as well. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) INFO
Dan Andriano w/Matt Pryor/Vic Alvarez The punks have grown up, and that won’t be more obvious than Dan Andriano and Matt Pryor will make it at this one. The guys have a median age that’s just under forty, and while they’ve already outrun the debut efforts from their respective bands (Adriano with Alkaline Trio, Pryor with the Get Up Kids), their current output is exactly the the thing aging, formerly angsty adults need to hear. Pryor’s new LP, Memento Mori, will be released the night before this show, and the duo recently put a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Cecilia,” so keep your keep fingers crossed for a performance of that. LKLD Live: New Granada Records Showcase w/MrENC/DieAlps!/Fistful/Thoth It’s been two months since we talked to lifelong Lakelander Aaron Marsh about the lack of a cohesive scene in the community, and now a pair of Tampa musicians (DieAlps!, Fistful) will hop on a bill with two of Lakeland’s finest (MrENC and Thoth) for a show that hopes to use the clout of Tampa indie label New Granada Records to get some kids out to some shows. MrENC, aka Eric Collins, is a former member of Denison Marrs and The Dark Romantics, comes still riding high on the stripped back, spooky chamber ready pop of songs like “gnicnaD” (“Daning” spelled backwards) which anchors an introspective new LP, The Lesser Light, released by New Granada in September. Dre Day w/DJ Neil Armstrong/Jinx/Mike Mass There won’t be any 40s on hand (they’re still illegal in Florida, people), but there will be plenty of west coast synth as The Bricks celebrates its 8th annual Dre Day. The headliner slot is filled by New York based DJ Neil Armstrong who is best known for his touring gig with Jay-Z. Cash is on the line in a costume contest, and Armstrong will be joined by a pair of Tampa emcees, Jinx and Mike Mass for the all night party that kicks off at 10 p.m.(The Bricks, Ybor City) INFO
February 18-19, Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival w/JJ Grey & Mofro/Walter Trout/Sonny Landreth/The Record Company/The Sheepdogs/The Congress/Ries Brothers/Bear & Robert/more At this rate, JJ Grey oughta just invest in a Tampa Bay condo. The northern Floridian was just in Ybor City to help open The Attic with his one man band show, and he brings his full band, Mofro, to Clearwater on Saturday to headline the first night of the city’s Sea-Blues Festival. Grammy nominated rock and roll outfit The Record Company join Grey on the bill alongside Saskatoon rockers The Sheepdogs who are still touring on the strength of 2015’s Future Nostalgia. Jersey boy Walter Trout brings a long and storied career (he debuted in 1990 with Life in the Jungle) on Sunday where he’ll probably tell stories of the days he worked with guys like John Lee Hooker, Joe Tex and Canned Heat before breaking out on his own. Selwyn Birchwood, a hometown boy gone big, plays an early Sunday set that should not be missed. (Coachman Park, Clearwater) INFO
BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet The Sauce Boss is playing in Williams Park, but Grammy winners BeauSoleil will be around the corner blending their own brand of Tex-Mex country and Cajun tunes for hungry fans of their own. (Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg) INFO
