A look at some concerts and music-related happenings taking place this Thurs., Feb. 11, on either side of the Bay.

Reel Deal Thursday: Beats, Rhymes & Life + Gwan Massive Brokenmold’s ongoing series pairing music-driven films with live performances launches in 2016 with Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest. Michael Rapaport’s 2011 documentary not only celebrates the influential hip hop group but offers a thoughtful look at Tribe’s inner workings and tracks the behind-the-scenes drama that led to their eventual dissolution. After the screening, the Bay area’s own impressive hip hop rocking ensemble, Gwan Massive, stages songs from the soundtrack, likely “Can I Kick It?” “Bonita Applebaum,” “Electric Relaxation” and “Jazz (We've Got)” among them. (Crowbar, Ybor City)

Andrea Bocelli Italian tenor Bocelli may be blind but the dude has proven he can carry an aria. Arguably the world’s most famous operatic/classical pop crossover artist, Bocelli pays tribute to the silver screen in his 15th and latest studio album Cinema, which includes re-imaginings of songs and scores from films like The Godfather, Dr. Zhivago, Il Postino, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Once Upon a Time in America, the latter a duet of “E più ti penso” with Ariana Grande. If you’ve seen the PBS special Cinema with Bocelli and guests, you’ll likely want to check out this arena date behind the LP. (Amalie Arena, downtown Tampa)

Madeon with Skylar Spence Hugo Pierre Leclercq, aka Madeon, is the 21-year-old French producer who earned YouTube viral fame with his "Pop Culture" video, in which he mashed up nearly 40 pop hits in real-time using a MIDI controller. He’s reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance charts with debut full-length Adventure, its pop-unz aesthetic calling on elements of French house music and nu-disco. Support act Skylar Spence is the bright and sparkling electro project of musician, producer and vocalist Ryan DeRobertis. (The Ritz Ybor, Ybor City)

Sunshine City Songwriters Festival: Zoe Lewis We featured the inaugural multi-venue downtown St. Pete area fest in last week’s issue and the performances are officially underway. Thursday night features two shows, and based on start and end times, you could theoretically catch both. This first kicks off early (at 6:30 p.m.) and showcases the gypsy, Latin and swing jazz-turned vaudevillian and folk pop eccentricities of “band in a body” Zoe Lewis, who has a kitchen sink of instruments (including spoons, tin whistle and accordion), a jam-packed repertoire and rather charming manner of delivering it. (Hideaway Café & Recording Studio, St. Petersburg)

Sunshine City Songwriters Festival: Cliff Eberhardt with Louise Mosrie Cliff Eberhardt came up during NYC’s second folk revival with the likes of John Gorka, Suzanne Vega and Shawn Colvin. The troubadour schedules his local concerts around his yearly trip to Bradenton to catch some Phillies spring training games with his dad, and marks his 11th annual performance in St. Pete with a bigger stage than his usual more intimate Craftsman House platform. This second Thursday show as part of the fest kicks off with a warm-up set from Louise Mosrie at 8:30 p.m. (Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg)
