UK rock band The Darkness stops in Tampa next week on ‘Motorheart’ tour

It’s been three years since Queen + Adam Lambert stopped in Tampa for the first time, and a notable absence was drummer Roger Taylor’s son, Rufus Tiger Taylor, who generally helps his dad out on drums.

Who would have guessed that he, like Phil Collins’ son Nic, plays in another band that tours regularly? Rufus has only been in Justin and Dan Hawkins’ The Darkness since 2015, which had already gone through a hiatus in the late aughts..

In what appears to be the band’s Tampa debut, the Motorheart tour swings into The Ritz in Ybor City on Tuesday, promoting its 2021 album of the same title.
