The jams just keep coming. Our second week into the month of love and we've got new music from Depeche Mode, Cold War Kids, Ryan Adams and Future Islands. Take a look below at the full playlist for this week, it's a doozy.
Depeche Mode has spent 37 years making music, but they've been silent for the last four years. All that changed last week with their brand new single, "Where's the Revolution," and announcement of the bands 14th full-length album titled Spirit, due out March 17th. "Where's the Revolution" is a track that builds with its decked out synth. The chorus is straight forward and meaningful as the band asks "Where's the revolution? Come on people, you're letting me down." I can't argue with those lyrics one bit. Spirit is addressing the topic that seems to be on everyone's mind; the current state of the world. According to singer Dave Gahan their new material is about “humanity and our place in that." Spirit is an album I'm looking forward to very much.

Baltimore trio Future Islands have a new gem of a song in "Ran," the lead track from their forthcoming album, The Far Field, out April 7th. Led by their punchy basslines and Herring's jilted lyrics, "Ran" finds a familiar groove like the band's 2014 breakout tune " Seasons (Waiting On You.") My love for Future Islands has grown quite a bit in the last three years and "Ran" fuels that growth.
Bernache, the downtempo recording project of singer-producer Emma, just shared her debut track “Your Name”. Emma's vulnerable vocals sit beside a dominating synth line that's hard not to like, but it's the sparse guitar that really grabbed me. "Your Name" is somewhat raw and also beautiful at the same time. Let's a get an album release soon, Bernache.
