Acclaimed singer-songwriters Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin toured together last year and it went so well—the shows were beloved by fans and critics alike—that they've extended the tour into 2020.

April dates for the tour were announced today, including a Fri. April 3 visit to the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre in Clearwater.

VIP ticket packages ($165) and regular tickets ($44.50 & up) go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday, Jan. 31.

Rather than two solo sets, Carpenter and Colvin's tour features both artists on stage together, sharing songs and "quips in a warm, comfortable setting inspired by the duo’s long-lasting camaraderie," says a press release.

Carpenter's career has trended toward the Country side of music; she has won five Grammy awards and is one of only 15 women in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Colvin has been a prominent Folk artist since emerging in the late ’80s. Her debut album, Steady On, won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk album in 1989; nine years later she won the Record and Song of the Year Grammys for her biggest hit, “Sunny Came Home.”

Both artists have in recent years released albums that looked back at some of their biggest successes. Carpenter's 2018 LP Sometimes Just the Sky featured reworkings of some of her favorite songs from her extensive catalog. Last year, Colvin released an acoustic version of Steady On in honor of its 30th anniversary.

Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin play the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, Florida on Fri. April 3 at 8 p.m. More information is available via rutheckerdhall.com.
