At the 62nd Grammy Awards ceremony a few weeks ago, Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela took home its first trophy for “Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.” The duo brings the big win and its latest group of songs, the Mettal EP, to Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall on March 28.

The acoustic guitar act is known for its technical flamenco-style playing, in which Gabriela often takes on the role of the percussionist by tapping on her guitar to create a rhythm while simultaneously playing chords.

Tampa Bay is lucky enough to get a Clearwater date on this upcoming run across the Southeast—especially when it seems like national musicians are skipping Florida entirely on their spring tours. The only other Florida date on this upcoming Rodrigo y Gabriela tour is in Orlando on March 27.

Tickets for next month's Rodrigo y Gabriela’s Clearwater show are on sale now at rutheckerdhall.com, starting at $33.25.

And if you’re not familiar with their music check out the viral Youtube video, a performance of their song "Tamacun," that put them on the map.
