Tampa’s Sunset Music Festival faced multiple reschedules in the wake of coronavirus, but it’s finally back and ready to rage outside Raymond James Stadium over Memorial Day weekend.

For help on deciphering the gigantic lineup of this year's Sunset Music Festival (SMF), honestly, I had to phone a friend. That friend recommended Chicago DJ Green Velvet, aka Curtis Alan Jones, who was in town recently for an EDM fest at the Pepin Center. Jones has been around since the early ‘90s, so those Nitzer Ebb-style

dark, industrial beats on “Deceiver” could be a tribute and not from coincidence. SMF has a crap ton of DJs that I’ve never heard of–except for AC Slater because, you know, “Saved by the Bell” (although this Slater is actually Aaron Clevenger, not Mario Lopez). Official pre and post-parties at The Ritz have even more DJs I’m out of touch, but Lizzy Jane has been a local support fixture for the EDM stronghold (and Slander and Seven Lions are pretty much headliners at SMF proper).

Saturday and Sunday shows are sold-out, but you can still get on the free guest list for Friday night. As of Monday, the fest was 95% sold-out. If you go, read this COVID-19 release and waiver that you are automatically “signing” by purchasing a ticket. And please, for your mother, drink some water.
