Don’t tell Jason Isbell, but we know a couple people who sold tickets to see him in Clearwater so they could be in Tampa for this makeup show from Shook who had to nix a December gig in Ybor City last minute.

The North Carolina songwriter’s 2022 album Nightroamer has been hailed as the kind of genre-pushing outing that’s saving country music, and you best bring ear protection when the Disarmers unleash a special brand of Americana that flirts with take-no-shit rock and roll, plus the occasional melodic flourish of the best indie-pop bands on the road right now.

Shook still performs under the Sarah moniker to play their country material, but also hits the stage with the River Shook name to play songs from Mightmare, which brings its sludgier, darker sound to open the show.

Tickets to see Sarah Shook & the Disarmers play the New World Brewery Music Hall in Tampa on Friday, Jan. 20 are still available for $20-$25.
