Our American Football watch continues, and we’re not talking about our country’s new pastime. We’re talking about the Chicago emo legends, who recently announced they’d be releasing an album of new material almost two decades after their worshiped debut (also self-titled) created a generation of sad saps who love mathy guitar.
LISTEN: AMERICAN FOOTBALL - “I’VE BEEN SO LOST FOR SO LONG”
The band released “I’ve Been So Lost For So Long” a few weeks ago, and today they’ve shared another cut from the forthcoming release, “Give Me the Gun,” where frontman Mike Kinsella continues to almost make us cry while harmonics and weird vibraphones sound off in the background.
On Facebook, Kinsella, 39, was happy to show his mom that he made it to the digital pages of NPR.
Your local record store will be carrying the release in house, but you can give your money to the internet by pre-ordering the LP via Polyvinyl Records (who are awesome, actually). Countdown the days until October 21 here. Listen to this beauty below.
