“Fresh” is a good word to describe what Left Lane Entertainment has been curating in the basement of Central Avenue restaurant Iberian Rooster.

Each installment of Art & Soul usually features a handful of names that don’t regularly appear on any other bills in the Bay area, and this edition is no different. Blues guitarist Branson Welsh is on the agenda this week along with singer-songwriter Ashton Beauchesne (aka Yoshi), plus poet (and comedian) Karti X. It’s relatively easy to lean on familiar names to pack an event, but Left Lane co-founder Jai Price has never been one to phone anything in. Tampa Bay’s live music scene is better for it.

Art & Soul w/Branson Welsh/Karti X/Pretty Dope/Tripzy/Yoshi. Thurs., June 20, 9 p.m. $10 & up. Iberian Rooster, St. Petersburg. eventbrite.com.
