Best Reunion Show: Ghetto Love Sugar @ Yeoman’s Road Pub (video)

Ghetto Love Sugar, a local experimental jazz jam outfit that enjoyed its heydey several years ago and played their last gig in ‘03, re-banded for a show on Friday, May 8, when drummer/percussionist Jon Priest – who’d re-located from Tampa to Boone, N.C. a few years ago – returned for a weekend of performing. That night, Priest sat in with nearly every group he helped shape during his time in the Bay area. But his set with former Ghetto Love Sugar bandmates Philip Booth (bass), Raulton Reichel (keyboardist/effects) and Joel Lisi (guitar) was one of the most spirited parts of the night, and bittersweet because it was a one-shot deal. (Video after the jump).
