If you're a regular reader of this section, then you'll know that St. Petersburg's Billy Mays III has always been devoted to experimenting with new sounds and the way they weave themselves into the fabric of our lives.

So, it comes as no surprise that the 29-year-old — who performs under the Infinite Third moniker — is completely breaking out of normal venues for his Ambient Installation Series where he looks to inhabit diverse and interesting places for a series of standalone, longform sets that'll last anywhere from three to five hours.

Venues include The Body Electric Yoga Company studio (February 25), Daddy Kool Records (March 4), Grassroots Kava House (February 21) and even Pizza Box (February 10). There are still open dates that Mays is looking to fill with appropriate venues.

"I’ve been developing a musical approach consisting of vulnerable live improvisation, electronically-altered guitar playing, meditative ambient textures, pulsing rhythms, and slowly-building crescendos," Mays, said in a release. "Each live set has been a unique and fleeting portrait, channeling the energies of both the audience and the venue itself."

Mays says he's always liked the idea that audiences are as essential to a performance as the performer, and he's asking the public to drop in on the sessions at their leisure and do something personally meaningful while they're there, too.

"All of my most potent sets have been a direct result of that unspoken energy exchange," he told CL in an email. "It’s my experience that when people get together and focus, even introspectively, it can be a powerful gateway that leads to profound insights, realizations, and epiphanies."

The first one happens on February 2 at The Metta Center. Every event is free with an optional donation and certain events like the one at [email protected] (March 16) will feature a reception area. Details are available at rememberyouaredreaming.com.
