After a year and a half on a winding journey around the U.S., experimental guitarist Billy Mays III returned to Tampa Bay last month. He’s taking the moment to regroup and launch a series of projects that mark the fifth year of his ambient loop-and-effects project, Infinite Third.

Mays’ first stop when he got back to the Bay was a set at the Venture Compound. A live recording of the shimmering, 30-minute performance is available for streaming or purchase on Bandcamp, with a recommended donation of $2.

Those proceeds will help support Mays’ launch of a new label, Remember You are Dreaming. Remember You Are Dreaming will go live officially in January, with Mays joined by other local underground stalwarts including OPHELIA, Jun, and Kersey Williams.

Finally, Mays has just announced that Pittsburgh’s Wild Kindness Records will issue a 5th Anniversary re-release of the first Infinite Third album, Gently, remastered and pressed to some pretty great looking white vinyl. Gently can be pre-ordered from Wild Kindness here for shipping in mid-December.
