Blame It on the Fish

Frizzle Fry

The subtitle for erstwhile Alternative Nation heroes Primus' latest vid — An abstract look at the 2003 Primus Tour de Fromage — says it all. Shots of the band playing live, rehearsing, eating, riding the bus, lying about and being interviewed are intercut with shots of just about anything the videographer thought looked cool: statues, trees, flowers, whatever. Fish has a very first-year-of-film-school feel to it, complete with slo-mo, fast-mo and any number of cheesy/psychedelic coloring effects. The in-concert footage tends to be of the band's drawn-out jams (no song is played in its entirety), and the backstage stuff is, well, boring. Just like touring for the paycheck, I guess.
