Blowfly brings his explicit brand of merriment to Brass Mug for his 76th Birthday Bash

The "Original Dirty Rapper" returns to town for the first time in more than 11 years

Clarence Reid, aka Blowfly, "the Original Dirty Rapper,” turned 76 on Valentine's Day and is celebrating his just-beyond-mid-septuagenarian status with rambunctious Tampa punk bands Abortion Twins and Eviscerated Zombie Tampon, as well as esteemed folk-punk laureate Crash Mitchell among others. [More after the jump.]

The favorite of comedy collectors is a raunchy rhyme trailblazer who combines the parody skills of "Weird Al" Yankovic, the outlandish getups and funk-griminess of George Clinton and the nasty hilarity of Redd Foxx. The Georgia native and current Miami dweller performed with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers at a Los Angeles gig in the '90s, a show captured in The Twisted World of Blowfly documentary, and albums include Porno Freak and Blowfly for President. When asked how he got his name, he quotes his grandmother in a cackling voice: "I don't know why those little white girls like you! You ain't no better than a nasty ol' blowfly!"

Details: Blowfly 76th Birthday Bash with Abortion Twins, Eviscerated Zombie Tampon, Crash Mitchell, The Prople, Tom's Ragdoll & more surprises, Thurs., Feb. 19, Brass Mug, 1450 Skipper Road, Tampa, $10 (ages 21 & up)/$12 (ages 20 & under)

Some choice Blowfly cuts below...warning: most of it is NSFW quality, but definitely worth checking out for pure hilarity's sake.
