He’s played in the ensembles of luminaries from David Bowie and Chaka Khan to Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins, but Sammy Figueroa plays bandleader on Sunday when His Latin Explosion blows into Straz Center’s Ferguson Hall for an evening of Latin jazz that fuses the rhythms of Puerto Rico, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and more. Friday, Dec. 8. 7:30 p.m. $29.50. Ferguson Hall, 1010 N. Macinnes Pl., Tampa. strazcenter.org
