It’s never been more important to support locals, especially musicians. But one Tampa Bay local you can support this weekend happens to have decades worth of experience in selling out arenas and concert halls. Most notably, Japan’s Nippon Budokan.
Cheap Trick’s acrobatic vocalist Robin Zander, a Safety Harbor resident, will perform at Clearwater’s Kate Tiedemann and Ellen Cotton Cabaret Theatre, located inside the newly renovated Ruth Eckerd Hall this Friday through Sunday. Joining him will be his son Robin Taylor, who recently moved back from Nashville. Masks are required for entry, and all social distancing protocols will be followed. Tables for four cost $160.
Cheap Trick exploded onto the music scene in the late ‘70s, with hit singles such as “Surrender,” “I Want You To Want Me,” and “Dream Police.” Last year, they hit the road with ZZ Top on its 50th anniversary tour, previously having opened for pretty much any radio rock band you can imagine.
