Coheed and Cambria’s fall tour has three Florida dates on it, and one of them is at Mahaffey Theater. The St. Petersburg venue will host the New Jersey prog-rock band on Friday, October 18; other Florida stops on the tour include Fort Lauderdale (Revolution Live on October 17) and Orlando (House of Blues on October 19).

The jaunt is in support of Coheed’s latest concept album, Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, for which frontman Claudio Sanchez and his bandmates — guitarist Travis Stever, bassist Zach Cooper and drummer Josh Eppard — have continued to bring new characters to storylines introduced on the band’s last album, The Color Before the Sun.

A representative for Mahaffey told CL that tickets for the show will start at $29.50 and that they’ll go on sale Friday, August 16 at 10 a.m. EDT. A ticket link is forthcoming.

The gig — where The Contortionist and Astronoid open the show — is Coheed’s first in the Bay area since it played the Old Gary amp with Taking Back Sunday in July 2018.
