Fans whose college frat and sorority parties were fueled by O.A.R.’s 1997 hit “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker” now probably have kids that are almost old enough to toast their very own can of Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s “The Mighty Lager,” which is named for the Virginia college-rock band’s latest album.

O.A.R. saxophone and guitar player Jerry DePizzo says his band “set out to create a very drinkable beer that everyone can enjoy, especially with friends,” which makes a lot of sense because the band’s music has also been just that — drinkable — since the very beginning.

O.A.R. w/American Authors. Wed., June 19. 7 p.m.. $30-$65. Mahaffey Theater, St. Petersburg. themahaffey.com.
