Death Cab for Cutie has a new, still-untitled album due in August (its first since 2016's Grammy-nominated Kintsugi), and the melancholic Pac NW band is taking the effort on the road for a 24-date tour that begins in late September when the band plays Las Vegas' Life is Beautiful festival. The band will then play Oregon on September 24 before the tour stops in cities like Dallas, Chicago, Brooklyn, Boston and Atlanta.
The U.S. tour wraps with an October 23 date at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida, and it even includes a pair of extra Florida dates. Neither of them are in Tampa Bay, however, so fans may want to consider a trip to O-Town, St. Augustine (October 20 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre) or Miami Beach (September 22 at The Fillmore).
The lack of a Bay area show could mean that Death Cab has been booked for a yet-to-be-announced support slot on a larger tour or festival date — we just don't know as of now. New York power-pop quartet Charly Bliss opens the Florida dates, and tickets go on sale May 2. Details are available via deathcabforcutie.com.
