Fresh off a round of South by Southwest showcases that found New Zealand power trio Die! Die! Die! sharing stages across Austin, Texas, with bands like The Donnas, the band brings its noise-pop-informed punk to Crowbar. Over merciless drumming and menacing bass lines, the guitar slashes through, loud and furious, the three-pronged attack smothering the listener with blankets of jagged sound goosed by effects-pedal insanity. But there are also poppy hooks buried just beneath the whirlwind surface of Die! Die! Die!'s sinister assaults. On top of it all, frontman Andrew Wilson sings with a bitter sneer as he analyzes busted relationships like a disgruntled field commander — bellowing such lines as: "I just want what I was promised."
