He's most famous for laying down the hot licks that zing Bob Dylan's epic single "Like A Rolling Stone" and for playing fiery guitar parts on stage when Dylan went electric at The Newport Folk Festival in '65. But Michael Bloomfield, the first great white (Jewish) blues rock guitarist, also made some fierce solo recordings before dying of a heroin overdose in 1981. Like the title suggests, Don't Say I Ain't Your Man! Essential Blues 1964-1969 shows Bloomfield at his bluesy best, lending his everyman vocals and lyrical guitar-playing to a clutch of blues chestnuts. This collection also includes highlights from Bloomfield's days with The Butterfield Blues Band, Electric Flag and cuts from the album Super Session.
