Tampa and Orlando fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer to say farewell to Elton John.

The 71-year-old pop music legend canceled his Tuesday night show at Orlando's Amway Center and has also put the kibosh on Wednesday night's sold-out show at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The Orlando announcement came at 8 p.m., one hour after the farewell show was supposed to start, and a release from Amalie Arena says John was forced to postpone the gig on doctor's orders.

"All tickets for the original date are valid for the rescheduled date, which will be announced shortly — no exchanges needed," the release said. "If a guest cannot attend the rescheduled date, refunds are available at point of purchase."
