Gary Clark Jr. announces new album, concert at Jannus Live

The Austin bluesman hits Jannus Live on February 18

Gary Clark Jr.’s been dutifully carrying the blues from the depths of dad-rock to a whole new generation since the debut of his first album, Black and Blue, in 2012. With a frenetic approach to fretwork and a worn vocal style that sounds far older than his 31 years, Clark’s earned a legion of fans through countless festival appearances and elbow-rubbing performances with the likes of everyone from Jeff Beck to Beyonce.

Today, his camp announced that his second studio album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, is set for release on September 11 with a big ol’ U.S. tour to follow. After a string of dates opening for the Foo Fighters, his first performance of 2016 is scheduled for February 18 at none other than St. Pete’s Jannus Live.

Tickets are $30-$35 and are set go on sale August 7.

“Every ticket purchased online for Gary Clark Jr.'s fall/spring headline tour, will receive a standard digital download of The Story of Sonny Boy Slim,” according to a press release.
