While Destroy Boys still fits into its 2015 EP Mom Jeans, the San Francisco band’s been sizing up steadily since Rolling Stone mentioned it in the same breath as Green Day. The profile briefly mentioned how Billie Joe Armstrong connected and found common ground with the “cherubic teenage garage-rock trio,” which is buddy-buddy with the punk megastar.
Destroy Boys—built around founding members Violet Mayugba and Alexia Roditis—is out on the road in support of Open Mouth, Open Heart, its month-old third album, out now on Hopeless Records, and one that sounds decidedly less punk than anything else the group’s ever put out.
