Head over to Stereogum to get a listen of Mastodon's "Indian Theme" from the score to Jonah Hex. It's a great, doomy, Mastodony Mastodon song (sans vocals), but I can't help but think the recording sounds a little flat and reserved. Maybe this was intentional? As not to drown out all the horribly-reviewed explosions, fight-sequences, and Meghan Fox deadpanning that make up this "film"? Who knows.
What we do know is that Mastodon will be releasing the bulk of their compositions for Jonah Hex in a six song EP entitled "Jonah Hex: Revenge Gets Ugly EP" slated to be released next Tuesday, June 29th, according to their website, and that, is good news.
