Holy Crap, Neutral Milk Hotel is coming to Clearwater

You can go ahead and cry now. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

“Holy crap, y’all.” Those were the words of A&E Eeditor Julie Garisto at noon today when Ruth Eckerd Hall announced that Jeff Mangum is bringing Neutral Milk Hotel (including In The Aeroplane Over The Sea players Scott Spillane, Julian Koster, and Jeremy Barnes) to Clearwater for a May 4 show that is part of what the band has called the “last tour for the foreseeable future.”

The Southern-spawned indie-rock pioneers have been on something of a farewell tour since re-forming in 2013, and while all dates have up until this point forgone the scorned wang of the United States, Sunshine State fans can finally rest easy and follow the band for a few days (they play Orlando, Miami, and Ponte Vedra after Clearwater).

“Dear friends we love you but it’s time to say goodbye,” Neutral Milk Hotel wrote in a message, “we extend our deepest gratitude to all the beautiful people who came to see us over the last year.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 12 at noon and are priced at $32.25-$38.75. The Ruth Eckerd Hall is located at 1111 N. McMullen Booth Rd in Clearwater. The ticket office is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is available here. Listen to Into The Aeroplane below.
