Dear Darius Rucker fans: You might actually get away with calling him “Hootie” at this show. The 53-year-old songwriter has been doing just fine as a solo country singer as of late, but he’s putting the twang aside for the first full-on Hootie and the Blowfish U.S. tour in over a decade.

Just about 2,000 fans may have been able to get into a one-off, 2016 St. Petersburg reunion show in honor of the band’s “Hootie’s Homegrown Ale” brewed by Bay area company Rock Brothers, so expect even more of them to pack into the amphitheatre formerly known as Gary when Hootie and the Blowfish co-headlining a bill alongside Barenaked Ladies.

Barenaked Ladies w/Hootie and the Blowfish. Sun., June 8. 7:30 p.m.. $29.50 & up. . MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, Tampa. livenation.com.
