More bad news for Tampa concertgoers, as Jason Aldean and Rascal Flats scrapped their upcoming tours and Tampa shows.
Jason Aldean’s appearance was scheduled at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater on Sept. 11 and Rascal Flats was booked for Oct. 16 at the same venue.
The Rascal Flats “Life is a Highway” Tour was set to be the band's farewell, and while there’s no news of a possible 2021 replacement tour, the three-piece band hinted towards upcoming announcements in an Instagram post.
“2020 is still an important year for us as a band and a milestone we want to celebrate with our fans, so please stay tuned for some fun surprises coming your way soon,” the post read.
Jason Aldean is postponing his tour until next year, according to a post on his website. “I can promise you we’ll get you new dates as soon as we can and that me and the boys will be back next year bigger and louder than ever,” the post read.
The Live Nation 2020 Country Megaticket bundle, which allows fans to purchase a ticket for six different shows, is canceled. Rascal Flats and Jason Aldean are among Megaticket-bundled acts like Thomas Rhett, and Lady Antebellum who canceled their tours as well. Refunds will be sent to those who purchased the bundle “in as soon as 30 days,” according to its website.
These cancelations and postponements are a continuation of the normal-run-of-things in the COVID-19 climate. Jason Aldean and Rascal Flats are in good company, joining acts like AJR, The Black Keys, The Lumineers and Journey, who have also either postponed or canceled tours booked at the amphitheater.
