Jazz percussionist Jason Marsalis kicks off Tampa Bay stop with quartet concert at Palladium Theatre

The youngest son of Dolores Ferdinand Marsalis and Ellis Marsalis, Jr. comes to St. Petersburg on Thursday, and he’s bringing the vibes — as in vibraphones. The 42-year-old (brother of Branford and Wynton) is touring in support of a new album, Melody Reimagined, Book 1, that Jason Marsalis and Basin Records are releasing in coordination with the revered New Orleans record label’s 20th anniversary. Jason Marsalis Vibes Quartet.
