Barely legal Jacksonville rapper SpotemGottem is hitting Ybor’s Club Skye Friday night. The 18-year-old rising star’s latest release “Beat Box” is moving up in charts, and the song’s original version can be seen all over TikTok in the latest viral sensation #junebugchallenge.

As of press time, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay did not hear back from anyone at the venue regarding its approach to county and city coronavirus ordinances that’ve put the alcohol permits of four nearby venues in limbo. We know a few things though from Skye’s social media accounts: it has new management and promises a “safe environment.” In a video on the @clubskye Instagram, you can see a few people wearing masks, but some don’t have them where they’re standing. There are VIP-areas, table service and general admission tickets available, but according to the City of Tampa there’s still no gathering on the dance floor, so just junebug in your seat, OK?

SpotemGottem. Friday, Jan 22, 10 p.m., $15-$80, Club Skye, Ybor City. eventbrite.com
