Dennis Ferrer Ichicoro ANE, located in the basement of Station House in St. Petersburg, is a great place to spend the end of your night dancing, and the people behind L8 Night Flights have been at the helm of many of the parties for the last year. On Friday, the crew celebrates its year anniversary with 48-year-old New York producer and DJ Dennis Ferrer, who brings his afro-centric house to the basement ahead of his late-June and July tour of rooms in Canada, Belgium and Spain. DJ Heather w/Jask/Austen Van Der Bleek/Coro There’s been a lot of death going around the Bay area music previews lately, and DJ Heather is feeling the pain, too. Last month, the Chicago house DJ lost a friend and Windy City legend, DJ Darrell Woodson, who was a gentle and omnipresent figure in the city’s local scene. X Factory Tribute w/DJ Santana Back in the day, before algorithms soundtracked our lives, radio broadcasts from inside nightclubs provided an easy way for listeners to mindlessly set the tuner and party for a few hours on a Friday or Saturday night night. In the aughts, DJ Rose and the X-Factory (broadcast on the old Wild 98.7-FM) used to be one of those programs, and on Saturday a few nostalgia seekers will stage an evening of old-school breaks in hopes of tapping into the magic for a bit.
