This weekend, shops across the Bay area open early (8 a.m. at some places, with Daddy Kool hosting breakfast food trucks at 7 a.m.) for the international holiday, ready to sling RSD exclusives, sales and giveaways. Even better is the live music element happening at Daddy Kool (crooner Mike Tony plays the 2 p.m. slot) and Bananas (music starting at 11 a.m. with darkwave act Luuls).
Be sure to spend lots of money at the register, tip your bartenders and return to the shop often, Record Store Day or not. Look below, then click through to see specials at some of our favorite local shops. And don't forget to go to Steelworker Records, which has never bought into the RSD hype, opting instead to just some of the best obscure metal in the Bay area.
