Dizzy Wright

Signed to Hopsin's indie record label Funk Volume, 23-year-old Las Vegas-based emcee Dizzy Wright  has a youthful vocal timbre, an elastic-slick and lightning-quick flow, a mix of trip-groove and bumpin’ crunkin’ production, and bravado that doesn’t come off as boastful since his chops back up his claims. His stoner intellectualism is inspired by The Four Agreements of spiritualist/author Miguel Angel Ruiz – ‘Be Impeccable With Your Word,’ ‘Don't Take Anything Personally,’ ‘Don't Make Assumptions’ and ‘Always Do Your Best’ – but this isn’t to say that Dizzy spreads positive gospel; rather, he lives and works by these ethos, throws out trademark ad-libs (“yiggity yamp”) and in latest State of Mind EP, discusses them amid tracks about turning up, smoking weed, his rising success and letting peoples’ opinions roll off his shoulders. Check out a few videos for State of Mind tracks and get details about tonight's show after the jump...

Dizzy Wright plays Orpheum, Ybor City; admission is $20 ($50 VIP), show is all ages, and doors are at 7 p.m.
