Downtown St. Petesburg’s new songwriters fest is happening this weekend and brings dozens of songsmiths to town for mostly free shows, and the lineup is rife with gems.

We’re over here losing our shit over three chances to see Tennesee’s Liz Cooper (whose band, The Stampede, played Ybor City last fall and then had one hell of a coming out party at Newport Folk Festival over the summer) and Dead Confederate’s T. Hardy Morris.

Cooper plays a 10 p.m. rooftop set at The Canopy at The Birchwood on Friday, a 7:30 p.m. set in Subcentral at Iberian Rooster on Saturday, and a 1 p.m. set at Jannus Live on Sunday.

Morris plays his own 10 p.m. rooftop set at Red Mesa Cantina on Friday, an 8:30 p.m. set at The Galley on Saturday, and a 2:30 p.m. set at Jannus Live on Sunday.
