Northbound w/Keep Flying/Rutterkin/Spork/irefusetobesadforever There’s one band on this Thursday-night punk and rock bill that does come from up north, but it isn’t Northbound. The quartet hails from Boca Raton and arrives in St. Petersburg with an anthemic, hyper-melodic brand of emo for fans of Alkaline Trio, Bayside and Into It. Over It. Local favorites Rutterkin and Spork play support at this Lucky You show, which also features New Jersey pop-punk outfit Keep Flying. All ages, and early, too. Thurs. June 6, 8 p.m.. $8. Lucky You Tattoo, St. Petersburg. Luckyyou.tattoo.
Apes of the State w/Local News Legend/Stop n’ Shop/Community Couch/Jon Coleman/Spud Xtra Tampa’s D.I.Y. In-Between House hosts a lot of experimental sounds, but it takes a turn towards pop-punk and alternative folk during this midweek show headlined by two Pennsylvania bands — quintet Apes of State and rowdy lady-folk, punk-rock band Local News Legend. Fans of AJJ, Mountain Goats and banjos are going to want to find this house and park in the yard (not the street) when they get there. See if you can stay the night and catch the In-Between’s Wednesday show featuring Los Angeles art-pop maker Precious Child. Tues. June 11, 7 p.m. Donation accepted. The In-Between, Tampa. Ask someone about it.
