Brooklyn's Loveskills (aka Richard Spitzer) is bringing his finely quaffed beats to St. Petersburg's The Bends on Tuesday, July 30. Cloak+Dagger hosts the FREE performance by the NYC producer.
His tracks have been described as "therapeutic synth, low frequency bass, and a balance of melodic heart speak." Spitzer has worked with the likes of Dan Deacon, Regina Spektor, Philip Glass and more. In an interview with Impose, he says, "Dan used to crash at my apartment and would offer me his tiny Casio synths like the CZ-101 to record with. We also once played in a punk-polk band backing another classmate Langhorn Slim with tuba, drums and accordion. I think the car broke down afterwards and we wound up playing on the streets of Greenwich Connecticut if I recall."
His new Reskilled EP is available for download here, but you can enjoy some of his tunes below.
Loveskills with Cloak+Dagger DJs, The Bends, FREE, 21+, 10 p.m.-3 a.m., 919 First Ave. N, St. Petersburg.
