The Smithereens’ lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Pat DiNizio passed away in 2017, but the remaining members — including original drummer Dennis Diken, original guitarist Jim Babjak and bassist Mike Mesaros — are soldiering on with “Someday, Someway” songwriter Marshall Crenshaw, who is fronting the revered Jersey power-pop band.

Bad news for anyone hoping for any Crenshaw gems, however, as PR for this show told CL, "...no Mac tunes. Just the Smithereens." Oh well, someday, someway, right?

The Smithereens w/Marshall Crenshaw. Fri., Aug. 9, 8 p.m. $29.50-$44.50. Central Park Performing Arts Center, Largo. largoarts.com.
