MGMT adds more fall tour dates, including a stop at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater

After releasing their second much-anticipated full-length, Congratulations — the follow-up to their masterful debut, Oracular Spectacular — and disappointing the majority of critics while leaving fans bemused but generally accepting of their non-catchy (not so new) direction, MGMT hits the road to promote the aforementioned new album. More exciting is that according to an email press release I just received, the tour brings them to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater (a seeming odd choice, but who says REH can't be hip?) on Wednesday, October 27, at 8 p.m., with Kuroma providing support. Tickets ($25, $35 and $45) go on sale this Friday, July 16 at noon and are available at the box office (727-791-7400) or via the Ruth Eckerd Hall website. The dates haven't yet been added to MGMT's own site, so no word yet on what other Florida venues the indie psyche rock ensemble will be playing.
