MTV VMAs 2017: Winners, plus highlights from acts headed to Tampa Bay [live updates]

Why are we doing this to ourselves?

The VMAs — a grossly celebrated celebration of an art from that doesn’t even get airtime on the channel that brought it to the mainstream — are on.

You probably don’t care, and we probably shouldn’t, but it’s rainy AF out there. Plus, reading about Hurricane Harvey makes us too sad (our sheet cake moment, we guess).

So, here we are (and by “we” we mean Ray Twitter-ing and threading his tweets all by himself) reacting to the program and bringing you winners (see below) along with highlights featuring VMA personalities heading to Tampa Bay in the coming months.

Here we go. Winners at the very bottom on the post and highlights below.

  • Here's Taylor Swift's new video for "Look What You Made Me Do," which premiered on the program. Her last Bay area appearance was Halloween 2015, but a 2018 concert is all but a certainty. We detail for to get tickets here.

  • Best New Artist Khalid gets his merchandise needs handled by R I V A L S // G R P, a Tampa-based design and merchandising company. Read more here.
  • We'll drop some video of host Katy Perry performing "Swish Swish" at the awards show when it goes live. She plays Tampa in December. Details on that show here.
