Staind's Aaron Lewis has been more country than rock for a while now, and the 46-year-old songwriter just leveled up from the Bay area venue he played in 2017.

Today the Tampa Theatre announced that Lewis will bring his "The State I'm In" tour to downtown Tampa on February 10. It's his first show in the area since a February 2017 gig at Dallas Bull.

“My music is very first person, very autobiographical,” Lewis said in a release. “It’s from my life experiences that I draw inspiration for my songs. This acoustic tour gives me the opportunity to share the stories behind my songs with my fans and play them stripped down, like I wrote them.”

I wonder if he's going to explain his "constitutionalist" views, too. There might not be a lot of crossover between Lewis' fan base and the one headed to see Wilco's Jeff Tweedy in the same room a month later, but we're glad that another slice of the music-loving public gets to experience the beauty of a historic theatre that's been preserved and programmed, in part, by their hard-earned tax dollars.

Other Florida dates on the tour include February 9 (Florida Theatre in Jacksonville) and February 11 (King Center in Melbourne).

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. and will cost fans 42.50-62.50. More information is available via tampatheatre.org.
