May will mark 40 years since Bob Marley passed. Thankfully, he left many children to carry on his musical traditions.

One of those successors, Grammy-nominated Julian Marley, is joining dad’s old band The Wailers for a Feb. 26 acoustic show at Clearwater’s Capitol Theatre.

Julian has had his own prolific career, from his first solo release Lion in the Morning in 1996 to lending his talents to the iconic album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This version of the Wailers features another reggae royal, and Marley family friend, Aston Barrett, Jr., son of the legendary Aston Barrett aka Family Man. Though not part of the original lineup, Family Man has played with the band since the ‘70s and continues to do so, making it a family affair.

Because of COVID-19 precautions at the Cap and its parent venue Ruth Eckerd Hall, capacity is reduced to 50%, and tickets can only be bought in pairs. Be prepared for temperature checks, mask requirements and social distancing.

Tickets to see Julian Marley and Aston Barrett’s Wailers at Bilheimer Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, Florida on Feb. 26 go on sale Friday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. EDT. They cost $42 and up, and will only be sold in pairs. Four-person private loge boxes are available for $236, and more information is at rutheckerdhall.com.
