In March, CL photographer Todd Fixler went all the way to Brooklyn to see My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero debut a new band. He won’t have to travel as far on Thursday when Iero brings the outfit to Crowbar in Ybor City in support of a disorderly, Steve Albini-produced album, Barriers, which is the culmination of the strides that Iero has made as a guitarist and songwriter.

Emo, punk, heavy and radio-ready rock don’t always play nice together, but Iero has managed to make it work — and still make you thrash and cry at the same time — on this one.

Thurs. June 13, 8 p.m.. $20. Crowbar, Ybor City. crowbarybor.com.
