Chico, which plays The Bends, in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 7, 2019.

There’s nothing wrong with tripping out on a Thursday, and that’s what’s happening when St. Petersburg retro-rock outfit The Venus welcomes a fellow Sunshine State space-rock band (Fat Sun, from Fort Lauderdale) to The Bends, where Nashville prog-punk getup Chico plays cuts from a 2018 debut LP (Ballet For Bastards) which features a blend of rock and jazz that’s made it very hard to put the band in a box. This show is free to attend.

Chico w/Fat Sun/The Venus. Thu. Feb. 7, 10 p.m. Free. The Bends, 919 1st Ave. N., St Petersburg. INFO.
