New Granada says it cannot waive cover charges at New World tonight for Oscar Beauchamp mourners

Hey, just a quick note from the A&E side: It's been brought to our attention that some people are getting together to toast the life of artist Oscar Beauchamp at New World Brewery after the memorial service for him at Gonzales Funeral Home tonight at 7 p.m.

Please be advised that the bar is presenting a music show featuring critically acclaimed national artists Franz Nicolay and Dave Dondero.

New Granada has to pay these artists to perform, so the $8 admission cannot be waived.

New Granada Presents' Keith Ulrey said he that has been friends with Oscar for more than 20 years and would do things differently if he could. He told CL he means no disrespect to Oscar or his loved ones. It's just unfortunate timing.

So,  consider supporting a grassroots local promoter's music show while paying tribute to a friend. Oscar would be on board this, I'm sure. Show is at 9 p.m.  1313 E. Eighth Ave., Ybor City, 813-248-4969. $8, 21 and older admitted, newworldbrewery.net.
