Weekly Tune-Up: New music for your week by The Stone Roses, CHVRCHES, Twin Peaks + more

I knew It was going to be difficult to follow-up last week's excellent set of songs -- which included tunes from Radiohead, Local Natives and Red Hot Chili Peppers. But with so much new music seeming to surface on a near daily basis, it didn't prove so hard after all. Below are 15 new tunes to help you kick this week's ass!

CHVRCHES has become one consistent group. The synth-pop makers have honed their sound perfectly and continue to put out excellent music. Latest single "Warning Call" is the theme for Mirror's Edge Catalyst, a forthcoming video game that's being released by Electronic Arts. Lead gal Lauren Mayberry's soaring vocals have incredible clarity. She's definitely the star of the talented Scottish trio.

Originally only available via Apple Music, Drake's Views has finally been released on all platforms. I know Drake seems to garner a ton of attention, both positive and negative, but Views is solid and worth diving into. "Controlla" should be the hip hop anthem of the summer, a fun and breezy tropical-hued tune with an intoxicating beat. I expect to hear it at pool parties and beach gatherings over the next several hot months.

If a having a new LP from Radiohead wasn't enough (it's not), English producer/musician Mark Pritchard just released his new album, Under The Sun. And on "Beautiful People," look who's featured on guest vocals but none other than Mr. Thom Yorke, who sounds almost too comfortable over a warm and hazy soundscape that could be plucked from a Radiohead album.

The Stone Roses have a new song. I repeat: The Stone Roses have released their first new music in over 20 years! "All for One" is the lead single off a forthcoming record they have confirmed but has yet to be given a title or release date. "All for One" packs a big sing-along chorus and some classic Stone Roses guitar work. They still have it!

Closing the Tune-Up this week is a track from Com Truise's very good EP, Silicon Tare. It just felt appropriate to end with a sunny day driving tune and also a reminder that Com will be playing this Thurs., May 19, along with STRFKR at The Orpheum. That's a show I'm pretty excited about. Seeing Com perform there a few years back was a pleasant surprise. You guys going to the show?
