If the Viking (aka Lars Gotrich) says it’s good, then you listen. Here’s what NPR Music’s lover of music that colors outside the lines had to say about a new split single from this nihilistic punk band from Texas visiting Tampa Bay this weekend: “Portrayal of Guilt leans into its prowling menace while new-to-me Slow Fire Pistol swarms with pg.99-inspired punk fury.” Opening sets from CL favorites (Horsewhip, Vacancy) have us running for the sign up sheet.

Portrayal of Guilt w/Horsewhip/Vacancy/Control System/Prime. Mon. March 9, 7 p.m. $10. The Blue Note, Tampa. local.cltampa.com
