Great music and lots of good will was on display last night at Gaspar's Grotto when several Bay area bands got together to raise money for a friend and fellow musician in need. The Janis Joplin cover act Kozmic Pearl opened followed by two of my favorite blues groups: Josh Lamkin and Automatic Heat and The Damon Fowler Group, the latter joined by legendary bluesman Nitro Bozeman for some sizzling harp and vocals. Local favorites, The Greg Billings Band, wrapped up the night with a high energy R&B set. With lots of good cheer, beer and blues, a good time was had by all.
