Postponed: Elvis Costello & the Imposters

Tampa Bay fans of Elvis Costello got pretty excited when the seminal singer-songwriter announced he'd be bringing his "Spectacular Spinning Songbook Tour" to Clearwater.

The bad news arrived today — Costello and his band must delay the start of the next leg of the tour due to the very serious illness of a close family member. This includes his performance at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Saturday, September 17. A new date will be announced as soon as it is confirmed. Ticket holders are asked to please hold onto your tickets, and they will be honored as soon as the new date is announced and confirmed. Refunds will be made available at point of purchase.

According to the press release from the hall, a spokesman for the tour stressed that Mr. Costello's wife and children were in excellent health but declined to elaborate further, hoping that fans would understand the desire and need for calm and privacy at this difficult time.
